This POST will show how to build a transparent glass whiteboard that will never wear out and never ghost.

Glass is a superior surface for writing on with dry erase markers and erases with a tip of the finger.  The size I made mine was 2.4m by 1.2m and was NOT made to freestand as it would take up too much room in my clients office. Total cost was a very reasonable #45,000 , and took a weekend to build and finish (minus the delays from the glass toughening factory in Lagos!). The glass was from the popular building materials market in Amuu Str Mushin Lagos.

A recent survey from Eventbrite found that more than three quarters of Millennials would choose to spend money on a desirable experience or event rather than buying something and a similar proportion say they would like to increase their spending on experiences rather than physical things.

The models for this shift are already well established in a number of domains. We have already seen the way we use technology shift from a model of ownership to one based on using software as a service. In this new era, the design of technological spaces focuses on the user experience (UX) just as much as it does core functionality. Approaching a fit out project with an inside-out perspective demands cognizance of a multiplicity of needs—spatial, technical, cultural, and functional. The interior evolves as each of these concerns is defined and integrated into a holistic solution. Has this made our job as designers more difficult? Yes, our role is more complex, but in many ways it is also filled with greater opportunity. We are now required to embrace skills beyond planning, creative, and execution. We must seek and understand demographic and psychographic trends. What is driving urban/rural migration? What shifts are occurring due to the tsunami-like influence of millennials and aging boomers?

One of our greatest challenges as Nigerian designers at DOTRubik projects  will be how to meet the demand for quality living/working environments for a rapidly growing population of older adults.

When you live in a developing country like Nigeria, choosing office space in it's commercial areas like Lagos can be very challenging as is the dependent factor on which employee’s performances strive. Here are a few things to consider when selecting an office space in Nigeria. Let start with shape.

Triangular shaped office = potential problem. There are many offices in Lagos and elsewhere in Nigeria that are odd shaped. Commercial office space with acute corners (less than 90 degrees) can create some real issues with spatial planning. There is not a lot you can do with tight angled corners, so the area just gets wasted unless you really think about the fit out design.
